Day 3: Affirmations

Hero of my own life

1. Keep going

Listen, this is totally cliche’, but it’s so important to understand that better days are ahead! Better people will enter your life and one day it will all make sense why those tough lessons were just that.. lessons. We can’t expect an explanation for why things do not always go as planned. God’s timing is always the best regardless of the plans we make for ourselves. All we can do is learn from those mistakes we’ve made with ourselves or other people and move forward.

2. Don’t wait around

Settling is never an option. Your expectations are never too high. Your feelings, needs, and wants are always valid, if not in their eyes, always in yours.

3. Change is good (don’t resist it!)

There are positives and negatives to every situation we come across in life. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Seek guidance with a positive attitude and prayerful heart. There are blessings out there waiting for you if you’re willing to work for them if you agree to let go of the dead weight. Change will alter you as a person and strengthen your resilience. You’ll be so proud of yourself when you conquer those inconsistencies in life and come out stronger!

4. Happiness is a choice

You can’t let the actions of others dictate your mood. This is your day to be great! Be thankful for all you have and all that is to come! You can’t allow the negative energy of others taint your energy and shift your mood/actions. You are made through the love of God.. so spread it, be in control, and be happy!

5. Trust yourself

Believing in yourself is the first step. No one can take your talents, knowledge, and abilities away from you. It is yours for good. Know that you have the power to be great in whatever capacity that may be. Do good for others with the gifts that you have been blessed with. Work every day doing what you love and along the way you’ll realize your purpose!

6. And most importantly.. have gratitude!

Appreciate the little things in life. One day you’ll realize those things that seemed so insignificant add up to the bigger picture. Allow yourself to love and be loved. Invite people into your life who breed positivity and compassion–it will rub off on you. Surround yourself with people who brighten your day and lighten your heart. It’s no secret that the life can be a struggle, but if at the end of the day you can name 3 things that you are thankful for, it’ll make you realize the good in the bad.
